The musically diverse season includes both classical and contemporary favorites performed by one of Kentucky’s finest orchestras.

Thrill to the magic of Cirque in a live performance on Opening Night - Fiftieth Season! Cirque de la Symphonie is a unique and elegant fusion of cirque and orchestra, adapting the stunning artistry of cirque with the majesty of a full symphony orchestra. The program will feature works from the world’s greatest composers while showcasing some of the most accomplished veterans of exceptional cirque programs from across the globe, including aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers, and strongmen. Marriage of FigaroNovember 14, 2015

The Marriage of Figaro is a tender comedy in which a countess and her servant join forces to punish her aristocrat husband for his philandering. In the process, two very different couples learn humbling lessons about life and love. The Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, Kentucky Opera and Kentucky Wesleyan Singers will present an evening of opera that will be familiar to all. From cartoons to commercials and movie soundtracks, Mozart’s feisty overture and beautiful arias from this famous tale of love, revenge and forgiveness have infused pop culture for decades. Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose, Yuletide carols being sung by a choir…and the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra spreading holiday cheer with the annual Holiday Pops concert! A sleigh full of guest artists, including American Idol finalist, Jenny Beth Willis, Owensboro Symphony Chorus, Owensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra, combined children’s chorus from City and County Elementary Schools, Owensboro High School Red Steel Drum Ensemble, and actors from Theater Workshop of Owensboro will join the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra for favorite carols, cherished holiday tunes, seasonal orchestral pieces and a Christmas carol sing-along. One of our favorite and most festive events of the year, make the Holiday Pops part of your holiday tradition. Join symphony patrons in the spirit of giving and bring any type of hospitality gift card to the concert for a resident at Wendell Foster’s Campus For Developmental Disabilities. All gift cards will then be distributed to our friends at the Wendell Foster Campus - assured of making someone’s day a little more magical! Broadway’s best presented by some of Owensboro’s favorites! Musick Studios All Stars, vocalists Bradley Naylor, Lisa Clark and Tevin Vincent and the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra and the Owensboro Symphony Chorus bring the stage alive with some of Bernstein’s most popular works from West Side Story and Candide. And if that isn’t enough to bring the crowd to its feet, the Symphony, vocalists and Chorus will present George Gershwin’s much loved Symphonic Portrait from Porgy and Bess. Just when the audience thinks the concert can’t get any better Owensboro’s own Diane Earle joins the orchestra for a performance of Gershwin’s - Rhapsody in Blue.
