Record with the OSO

The Owensboro Symphony Orchestra has recorded for Albany Records, Vienna Modern Masters, Whole Heart Music and our own Symphonic Discoveries label. Our prices are better than those offered by most comparable European orchestras and far less comparable American orchestras.  Find out more about this excellent recording opportunity.

Owensboro Symphony Orchestra Auditions

The Owensboro Symphony Orchestra will conduct local auditions for the positions listed below on Friday, August 19 (horn only) and Thursday, August 25 (all other positions).

Hi-Notes

Hi-Notes is a pre-concert discussion about that evening's music. We use music examples and a helpful power-point. Since it is meant to help listeners know what to listen for, this is not a boring, technical discussion requiring "expert" knowledge. We mean to inform our audience, so that they not only appreciate the music more, but connect with it -- at an emotional level. We want our audience to enjoy this great music! So not only do we talk about how to listen to the music, we also bring in cultural connections whenever possible. For instance, what does Looney Tunes, Woody Woodpecker and The Barber of Seville have in common? Come and see!

We begin at 6:45 in the Holbrook balcony, and are finished by 7:10. No reservations required; just come up the steps or the elevator and join us!
