Troy Quinn and the Owensboro Symphony open the 57th Season with the Overture from Ruslan and Ludmila, Mikhail Glinka’s beloved orchestral showpiece. This concert also features Paul Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes by Carl Maria von Weber and to close the performance the crowd will be enamored by Tchaikovsky’s supercharged Symphony No. 4

The Owensboro Symphony’s beloved Christmas tradition promises to mesmerize listeners with Holiday favorites and fresh new works; including The Nutcracker, A Christmas Carol, and Sleigh Ride. The Owensboro Symphony Chorus and the Owensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra will join the symphony in performing some of the seasons most recognizable tunes. Home for the Holidays is Owensboro’s most festive and memorable Holiday event for the entire family!

Lights, Camera, Action! Enjoy an evening of Hollywood’s most romantic movie scores with music from Gone with the Wind, Romeo and Juliet, and Casablanca. The audience will be captivated by violin soloist Sandy Cameron with her performance of Danny Elfman’s Edward Scissorhands Suite, Love Theme from Cinema Paradiso, and more. Declared “brilliant” by the Washington Post, Cameron is one of the most strikingly unique artists of her generation.

Music and art meet as history comes alive on this adventurous journey through the museum! The Owensboro Symphony will delight the audience with music from Indiana Jones, The Mummy, Night at the Museum and more! Be transported by the Symphony’s  illuminating performance of Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. Join us for a Night at the Museum!

Enjoy the wonder and whimsy of symphonic music featuring Kentucky native and world-renowned flutist Jim Walker. Dynamic soloist, legendary orchestral and studio musician, and an inspiration to countless students world-wide; Jim Walker’s bold and expressive playing can be heard on hundreds of soundtracks and commercial recordings including collaborations with John Williams, Paul McCartney, Leonard Bernstein and James Galway. This concert will feature a wide array of musical selections from Mozart, to John Williams, Henry Mancini and finally William Walton’s The Wise Virgins Suite
