Saelim Henderson

Second Violin

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Saelim Jung Hendreson started playing the violin at the age of 4 through Suzuki program. She graduated Pusan Arts High school in 2002 and Pusan National University in 2006. She came to Campbellsville University (Kentucky) in 2008 to continue her music study and completed her master’s in Music Performance in 2010 under the instruction of Michael Davis(former Louisville Orchestra concertmaster). She was recipient of awards in recognition for exceptional achievement in Instrumental performance in 2009 in Campbellsville University

Saelim is currently a DMA student in music performance(violin) at University of Kentucky (Lexington,KY) and actively involved in local orchestras and chamber groups. She is a passionate performer. She performed her first solo concert with Masan Youth Orchestra where she acted as concertmaster in 1997. She also had a opportunity to perform the “Triple Concerto” by Beethoven in 2011, and “Meditation” by Massenet in 2015 with CU Orchestra.

She won the second place in the 2016 Macaulay Chamber Music Competition as a fist violinist in campbellsville University String Quartet. Campbellsville University String Ensemble where she acted as a concertmaster invited to perform KMEA IN-service conference and she also performed as a solo violinist with this group the “Spring” and “Summer” by Vivaldi in 2014. She had served as a concertmaster in Pusan Youth Orchestra in 2005-6, KMEA Intercollegiate Orchestra in 2009 and Campbellsville University Orchestra from 2010.

She is currently an active member of Orchestra Kentucky in Bowling Green from 2013, Owensboro Symphony Orchestra(2015) and University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra(2022). She also the assistant music minister at First United Methodist Church(Campbellsville, KY). She is married to Ethan Henderson and together they have three children, Sarana, Aella and Benjamin.
