Owensboro, KY, September 23, 2021 – The Owensboro Symphony is happy to present its second annual Symphony Stroll on Friday, October 1, 2021. Symphony Stroll was created last year as a way for our community to safely enjoy live performances during the Covid-19 pandemic. “Symphony Stroll was such a success last year. We are thrilled to offer this free event again, creating a new tradition in our community,” said Gwyn Payne, Owensboro Symphony’s CEO.

On October 1, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., all are invited to stroll along the beautiful riverfront and enjoy the sounds of the Owensboro Symphony. The Symphony Stroll is free to the community thanks to the generous support of Wyatt, Tarrant and Combs, LLC and Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline. Ensembles  will be placed throughout Smothers Park, beginning with Troy Quinn and the Symphony Chamber Orchestra at the Overlook Stage and reaching all the way to BB&T Plaza where a jazz trio will perform. “There is no right or wrong way to enjoy this event,” said Troy Quinn, the Symphony’s Music Director, “ensembles will play throughout the evening and you can start at any stop and linger where you choose.” Throughout the park, attendees will enjoy hearing performances from the Owensboro Symphony’s Percussion Ensemble, Brass Quintet, and String Quartet.  The music will feature a broad array of many musical selections and styles, from Broadway to Jazz to Orchestral selections. Each stop on the Symphony Stroll will have signage with a QR code allowing attendees to view the event program.

Symphony Stroll is held within The District which allows patrons at participating businesses to leave the premises with a beverage in a specially marked cup. Attendees are asked adhere to the following recommendations: Facemasks are recommended and encouraged, keep at least 6 feet distance between other attendees, keep your distance from the performers, and if you are ill, please refrain from attending.
