Owensboro, KY – The Emmy-nominated Owensboro Symphony opens its 59th season on October 26, 2024 at 7 p.m. at RiverPark Center. Conductor Troy Quinn begins his eighth season with the Owensboro Symphony and continues to bring his dynamic and powerful programs to the audience. The 2024-25 season is presented by Owensboro Health. “This season is full of excitement and each concert will leave the audience wanting more,” said Gwyn Payne, Symphony CEO.
The 59th season opens with an epic Symphony Spooktacular! The audience will be spellbound with an enchanting lineup that includes Mussorgsky’s eerie Night on Bald Mountain, Paul Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and the mysterious shrieking strings in Herrmann’s Psycho Suite, as well as the majestic themes in Brahms’ Symphony No. 1. “From the moment the music begins, you’ll be on the edge of your seat,” said Music Director, Troy Quinn.
Concert attendees are encouraged to join Troy Quinn in Cannon Hall from 6:15 to 6:40 p.m. for Behind the Music pre-concert conversation about the performance. Behind the Music is designed to enhance the concert experience and provide insights into the music and music-makers performing on the program.
