January Concert features Los Angeles Philharmonic Principal Trumpet, Thomas Hooten

Owensboro, KY –  Troy Quinn and the Owensboro Symphony take the stage for the first time in 2025 on Saturday, January 25 at 7 p.m. at RiverPark Center. The concert features some of the most famous composers in classical music. Beethoven, Brahms, and Haydn. 

The concert will showcase the remarkable talent of guest artist Thomas Hooten, Principal Trumpet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and a leading figure among today’s classical trumpeters. Hooten’s exceptional skills are prominently featured in numerous film soundtracks, including Jumanji: The Next Level, Superman vs Batman, and Strange World.

The performance begins with Beethoven’s powerful and inspiring Egmont Overture. Hooten takes the stage to perform Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto. The concert continues with Haydn’s captivating Symphony No. 88 and concludes with Brahms’ Variations on a Theme by Joseph Haydn. “Get ready for an evening of unforgettable classical music,” said Troy Quinn, Music Director/Conductor. “This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the timeless beauty and artistry of classical music’s most iconic pieces.”

Concert attendees are encouraged to join Troy Quinn in Cannon Hall from 6:15 to 6:40 p.m. for Behind the Music pre-concert conversation about the performance. Behind the Music is designed to enhance the concert experience and provide insights into the music and music-makers performing on the program. Behind the Music with Troy Quinn is presented by Baird – The Settle Group.
