OWENSBORO, KY — A summer tradition nearly four decades strong returns this August as the Owensboro Symphony presents its 38th annual Concert on the Lawn, generously sponsored by U.S. Bank since 1987. The free community concert takes place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. on the front lawn of Kentucky Wesleyan College, with picnicking beginning at 5:30 p.m.

For many, the Concert on the Lawn marks the closing of summer; for others, it signals the start of another unforgettable Owensboro Symphony season. But for all, it’s a cherished evening of music, fellowship, and fun under the open sky.

“This concert is a celebration of some of the most iconic music ever written for film and television,” said Troy Quinn, Music Director and Conductor of the Owensboro Symphony. “ From superheroes to love stories, the audience will be transported by the power of these unforgettable themes. It’s a musical journey everyone can enjoy.”

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets for this free, family-friendly event. Several local food trucks will be on-site, and guests may also opt to reserve tables and catered dinners for a more relaxed, all-inclusive experience.

Table Reservation Options:

  • Table, 8 chairs & Moonlite dinner for 8 – $400
  • Table & 8 chairs only – $200

All reservations must be made August 20 by calling 270-684-0661 or online at OwensboroSymphony.org.

As part of the fun, patrons who reserve tables are invited to participate in the annual table decorating contest, with this year’s theme centered around Hollywood Soundtracks. Creative flair and festive decorations are highly encouraged!
