The Owensboro Symphony will open its 60th Anniversary Season, sponsored by Owensboro Health, with Crazy for Gershwin on Saturday, October 25 at 7 p.m. at the RiverPark Center.
The program pays tribute to American composer George Gershwin, whose fusion of classical and jazz transformed 20th-century music. Selections include An American in Paris, Girl Crazy, and Rhapsody in Blue, featuring Principal Pianist Diane Earle performing Gershwin’s iconic piano masterpiece.
“Our 60th season celebrates the music that shaped America’s cultural voice,” said Troy Quinn, Owensboro Symphony Music Director/Conductor. “Gershwin’s genius lies in how he bridged classical and popular music, and this concert captures that unmistakable American spirit.”
The Opening Night performance is made possible through the generous support of our Premier Sponsor Wyatt, and Community Partner Martina Temple.
