Since opening in 2005, the Owensboro Symphony Academy has been a cornerstone of music education in the region, providing high-quality instruction for students of all ages and abilities. Connected to the artistic excellence of the Owensboro Symphony, the Academy partners with independent instructors to cultivate musical growth, creativity, and a lifelong love of music.
The Academy offers instruction in piano, string instruments, and voice and features Wenger soundproof practice rooms that provide students and instructors with a professional, focused learning environment. Instruction is offered through a variety of formats including private lessons, the Suzuki Method, and music theory. Its studios are active year-round with students developing skills in a supportive, inspiring setting.

New Group Piano Lesson Program
The Academy will also launch a new 10-week group piano lesson program beginning Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 6:00–7:00 p.m., led by piano instructor Cathy Mullins. With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Mullins has designed the program to make learning piano accessible and engaging through interactive games, popular songs, rhythm exercises, and foundational music theory. The program is ideal for beginners and those looking to refresh their skills in a collaborative setting.
“I believe music is one of the most powerful gifts, and everyone has music inside them,” said Mullins. “These lessons focus on creative expression, confidence, and having fun with music.”
Enrollment for the new group piano lesson program is now open, and space is limited. Contact Cathy Mullins directly at 270-316-9203 or [email protected] to register for group piano lessons.
