OWENSBORO, KY — A summer tradition nearly four decades strong returns this August as the Owensboro Symphony presents its 39th annual Concert on the Lawn, generously sponsored by U.S. Bank since 1987. The free community concert takes place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. on the front lawn of Kentucky Wesleyan College, with picnicking beginning at 5:30 p.m.

For many, the Concert on the Lawn marks the closing of summer; for others, it signals the start of another unforgettable Owensboro Symphony season. But for all, it’s a cherished evening of music, fellowship, and fun under the open sky.

“This concert celebrates some of the most iconic music ever written for film and the stage,” said Troy Quinn, Music Director and Conductor of the Owensboro Symphony. “From thrilling overtures from The Phantom of the Opera and West Side Story to beloved favorites like Mary Poppins and Beauty and the Beast, audiences will be swept away by the unforgettable melodies that have inspired generations. It’s a musical journey filled with excitement, nostalgia, and something for everyone to enjoy.”

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets for this free, family-friendly event. Several local food trucks will be on-site, and guests may also opt to reserve tables and catered dinners for a more relaxed, all-inclusive experience.

Table Reservation Options:
