Performance Details

Summer Salute returns on Friday, June 2 at 7:00 pm on McConnell Plaza featuring special guest Rockapella. This talented group will perform a wide array of songs from Shambala, to Philadelphia Freedom and Rock the Boat.

Summer Salute is a free community event made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Daviess County Fiscal Court along with additional support from the City of Owensboro and Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline. The community is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and find a spot at the Atmos Amphitheater on McConnell Plaza to enjoy this family friendly concert. Conductor’s Circle – $1,000
Conductor’s Circle will provide a VIP experience that includes a table for eight with dinner provided by Lure Seafood and Grille and table service for cash bar, 20% discount at the Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown Waterfront (subject to availability), access to private restrooms, and parking.

Reserved Seating – $500
Reserved Seating includes table and chairs for eight.

Appetizer Trio: Fried green tomato with herbed goat cheese and tomato jam, Pimento cheese fritter with agrodolce, Crostini with grilled sweet onions, toasted pine nuts, whipped feta and garlic spread and hot honey vinaigrette.

Choice of Entrée: Bourbon barbecue smoked brisket, Ginger chili roasted salmon or Vegetarian lasagna. All entrees will be served with roasted sweet potatoes with kale and fried corn with peppers.

Featuring

The male vocal group Rockapella achieved national television fame in the early ’90s on the hit PBS show Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Since then, they have toured the globe and provided a funky powerful soundtrack to several generations of vocal music fans. With buckets of catchy original pop songs, and complete contemporary revisions of sparkling pop and soul classics this group has always been the one to watch. The current Rockapella lineup features Scott Leonard, high tenor; Jeff Thacher, vocal percussionist; Calvin Jones, tenor: Jose Rodriguez, tenor; and Bryant Vance, bass. This lineup marks a new generation of Rockapella, who remain keenly focused on musical excellence.
