A native of Massachusetts, Keegan Sheehy serves as percussionist in the Owensboro Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic, and as Principal Percussionist in the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra. He has performed with the Louisville Orchestra, Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Lexington Philharmonic, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, Carmel Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes.
Keegan has performed in such varied settings as the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, Make Music New York, Make Music Nashville, Pittsburgh Festival of New Music, the Center for Advanced Musical Studies at Chosen Vale, GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance, and the Midwest Composers Symposium. An advocate for new music, he has commissioned and premiered over 20 works, including a percussion concerto.
Keegan completed undergraduate studies at Ithaca College, and graduate studies at Indiana University. Outside of performing and working in arts administration, he is an avid runner and film buff, and is always looking forward to his next road trip.
