After earning her Master’s degree in trombone performance from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, Heather Miller pursued a career as both a performer and an arts administrator. She has been the bass trombonist of the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra since 2018 and is a substitute musician with many orchestras throughout the region, including the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Louisville Orchestra, the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, the Illinois Symphony and others. Heather has also performed with the Who, Hansen, Evanescence and Amy Grant.
Along with an active freelance career, Heather is also the Orchestra and Operations Manager for the Grand Teton Music Festival located in Jackson, Wyoming. She has held positions as the Personnel Manager of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra and as the Stage Manager for the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis (IVCI).
Heather resides in Indianapolis with her husband, Ryan, dog, Scally Wags, and cat, Benjamin.
