Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio Jack began playing Irish Fiddle at the age of 7, eventually going on to be named the Midwest youth Irish Fiddle Champion in 2011 and 2012. He continued his studies at Cincinnati’s School for the Creative and Performing Arts where he began studying classical violin and Jazz. Jack holds a BM in Jazz Studies from CCM in Cincinnati, and a Performer’s Diploma in Solo Performance from Indiana University where he studied with Dallas Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Alex Kerr, in addition to serving as Concertmaster of the Indiana University New Music Ensemble.
As a Jazz Violin soloist Jack has appeared with Carl Topilow and the National Repertory Orchestra, and as Concertmaster and Violin soloist Jack appeared under the direction of Marin Alsop leading the National Orchestral Institute in Richard Strauss’ Heldenleben.
Jack currently lives in Evansville, Indiana where he serves as Concertmaster of the Evansville Philharmonic, 1st Violinist of the Eykamp String Quartet and Section Violin in the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra. When he is not playing concerts he is an avid hiker, runner, and occasional banjo player.
