A native of Taiwan, Yi-Wen Yeh began her musical journey at the age of 4 with the piano and later took up the violin at the age of 6. Her deep passion for music led her to pursue advanced studies in violin performance, earning her Bachelor’s degree from the National Taipei University of Education in 2022 under the guidance of violinist Richard Lin. She continued her education at the IU Jacobs School of Music, where she completed her Master’s degree in 2024 and is currently pursuing a Performance Diploma, studying with renowned violinist Alex Kerr.
Throughout her musical career, Yeh has participated in prestigious music festivals, gaining invaluable experience and exposure to the international music scene. She was a participant in the Asian Youth Orchestra and the Kent Music Festival, where she had the special opportunity to perform side-by-side with the Cleveland Orchestra. Yeh has also had the privilege of attending masterclasses with a variety of musicians, including Benny Kim, the Van Kuijk Quartet, the Telegraph Quartet, conductor Jun Markl, and Ming-Feng Hsin.
In addition to her academic achievements, Yeh has built an impressive performance portfolio. She performed side by side with the Cleveland Orchestra during the 2023 Kent Music Festival and was appointed Assistant Concertmaster of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra from 2023. Yeh also serves as a First Violinist with the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, where she performs a wide range of concert repertoire. She has presented recitals in both Bloomington and Taipei, performing a diverse range of violin works that showcase her versatility as a musician. Her performances continue to demonstrate her commitment to expanding her artistic expression and her passion for the violin.
